The short version

  • Your masjid keeps its own records

Your gifts, membership and sign-ups are your masjid's records. We keep them for your masjid. In its Office, only the people it gives a role see them.

  • Your card goes to our payment processor

Card and bank details go straight to our payment processor. We keep only what you see, like the card brand and last four digits.

  • We do not sell your information

Not to advertisers, not to anyone.

  • Children have no accounts

Accounts are for people 13 and over. Parents add younger children to their household, and their health notes are sealed.

  • In the app, you choose

The app uses your precise location only if you turn it on, and you can turn off what it shares about how you use it. Ads never use who you are.

  • You choose what you hear

Turn off email or app notices from any masjid, reply STOP to texts, and choose what your masjid's directory shows.

  • Leaving is simple

Delete your Muslim Colors account any time. You have 7 days to change your mind. Your masjid keeps its own record of your gifts.

Who we are, and what this covers

Muslim.Blue is run by Muslim Blue LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). Masjids use Blue for their prayer times, screens, giving and community. This notice is for the people who use Blue with a masjid: people who follow a masjid, give to it, join it, register their children, serve at it, or sponsor it.

You sign in to Blue with your Muslim Colors account, the one account that works on every Muslim.* site. Muslim Colors LLC, a separate company, runs that account, and its own Privacy Notice covers your sign-in, email address and name.

Who is in charge of your information

  • Your masjid is in charge of its own records about you: your gifts and pledges, your membership and dues, your household and children, the masjid's messages to you, its elections, and your bookings. We keep and handle those records for your masjid, under our agreement with it.
  • We are in charge of what we need to run Blue itself: security records, records of masjid plans, sponsorships and Premium, the email and text systems, and what the Muslim.Blue app keeps, described in The Muslim.Blue app.
  • Your Muslim Colors account is covered by its own notice, linked above.

So for a question about your gifts or membership, your masjid is often the best place to start. You can always write to us too. See Contact us.

What we keep, and why

Your profile

When you create a Muslim Colors account, with your email address, with Apple or Google, or from a masjid's invite to its Office, you confirm you are 13 or older before the account is made. When you make it from Muslim.Pink, which is only for adults, the same box asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. Blue lets you follow a masjid once it knows you are 13 or over: from that confirmation, or, for an account that has not confirmed it, by asking your date of birth. Applying to join a masjid, or joining a household, asks your date of birth, and Blue refuses anyone under 13. You give your date of birth once. After that, only your masjid's membership team can correct it, and it records why. Your date of birth tells Blue whether you are a teen or an adult, which some memberships and elections need. If the birth date you give shows you are under 18, your Muslim Colors account is marked as under 18 until your 18th birthday, so Muslim.Pink refuses it. Only the day the mark ends is kept with your account, never the date.

Following a masjid

When you follow a masjid, Blue keeps that you follow it. Following asks for the masjid's news, so its app notices and emails are on until you turn them off. Texts stay off until you opt in.

Following a masjid can show what faith you practice. We use it only to send you that masjid's news. The masjid's Office shows how many people follow it, not who.

We do not ask a separate yes before keeping it: where the law allows, this notice is enough. You can stop following a masjid at any time; see Your choices.

Messages from your masjid

  • Each channel (app notice, email and text) has its own switch, and news is kept apart from messages about something you signed up for, like a class.
  • To get texts, you give your phone number on the masjid's text page, agree to the words shown there, and enter the code we text to that phone. We keep your phone number with the exact words you agreed to.
  • Every message email from your masjid has a link to stop that kind of email from that masjid. Receipts and other emails about something you did, such as a gift you made, do not have that link.
  • Links in messages count how many times they were clicked, not who clicked. No message carries an image that reports whether you opened it.
  • Messages from your masjid come by email from its own domain, or "via Muslim.Blue". Replies go to your masjid once it has set a reply address. Until then, replies go to the address the email came from.

Giving

When you give, Blue keeps what your masjid needs for its records and your receipt:

  • Your name and email address, and your phone number if you give it.
  • The gift: the amount, the fund, the date, how you paid, and the fee you chose to cover.
  • If you dedicate a gift, the name you give, and the email of the person to tell. That person gets one email that a gift was given. The amount is never in it.
  • If you choose, the name to show on the masjid's donor wall.
  • If you sponsor an iftar, the night you sponsored and, if you choose, the name to show on the masjid's iftar sponsor board. A name shows there only once the masjid has looked at it, and a sponsor who chooses no name is only counted.

Card and bank details are typed into our payment processor's own fields and go to it. They never pass through Blue. For a card or bank account you save for recurring gifts, Blue keeps only what you see of it: the brand and the last four digits.

  • Without an account. You can give as a guest. We email you a signed link to see your gifts.
  • Recurring gifts and pledges. For a recurring gift, Blue keeps the schedule and the gifts it made. For a pledge, Blue keeps the amount you promised, its dates, and what has been given toward it.
  • By text. When you text your masjid's keyword, we keep your phone number, the texts, and your gifts by text. Your phone number is used only to answer your texts and to know your gifts by text. Your masjid sees only its last four digits, unless you choose to share your phone with it.
  • In person. A card tapped at a reader tells Blue nothing about who gave, so the gift is anonymous unless you ask for a receipt by email or text.
  • Employer matching. If you ask about a match, Blue keeps the employer's name with your request.
  • At a fundraiser night. When the masjid enters your pledge or gift on the night, the screens and the campaign page show your name only if you say yes and the masjid's owner or treasurer approves it; otherwise they say "Anonymous".

Your masjid sees your name and email address, and your phone number only if you chose to share it. We use your giving records to process your gifts, send your receipts and your year-end statement, and keep the masjid's books right.

Your giving is private. Blue never shows a donor's name in public unless the donor chose it and the masjid's treasurer approved it. It can show only in these places: on a campaign's donor wall, if you check the box when you give and the masjid's treasurer approves it; on the iftar sponsor board, if you choose a name and the masjid's owner or treasurer approves it; and at a masjid's fundraiser night, if you say yes when your pledge or gift is entered and the owner or treasurer approves it.

Membership and households

  • When you apply to join a masjid, Blue keeps your application, your answers to the masjid's questions, your membership type, your dues and the history of your membership.
  • Your masjid's member directory lists you only if you opt in, only while your membership is active, with only what you chose to share, and only to people who are active members themselves.
  • A household is joined by invitation, and nobody is added without their own agreement. A teen joins by accepting the invitation with their own account.

Children

Children under 13 never have an account. A parent may add a child to their household, so the masjid can register the child for classes and programs. For each child, Blue keeps:

  • the child's name and date of birth;
  • any allergy, medical or accessibility notes the parent writes. These are sealed with encryption. The adults of the household can open them. A teacher of the child's class sees only the notes the parent marked as needed in class, and every such view by staff is recorded;
  • whether the parent agrees to photos of the child. This is off until a parent turns it on, and Blue keeps who changed it and when;
  • the people allowed to pick the child up, with their phone numbers sealed.

Our notice to parents of children under 13

This is our notice to parents under the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

  • Who keeps it. Muslim Blue LLC, PO Box 2, Darlington, SC 29540, privacy@muslim.blue, keeps your child's information for your masjid, which uses it for its classes and programs.
  • Where it comes from. Only from a parent: only an adult of the household can add a child or change a child's details. Blue never asks a child under 13 for information.
  • What it is. The child's name and date of birth, and, if you give them, the notes, the photo choice and the people allowed to pick the child up, listed above.
  • How it is used. Only so your masjid can register your child and care for them in its classes and programs. It is never shown in public, never used for ads, and never sold.
  • Who sees it. The adults of your household; your masjid's people who run your child's programs, a teacher seeing only the notes you marked as needed in class; our team, when running or fixing Blue; and our hosting providers, who keep it on their servers. We give it to no one else, except when the law requires it.
  • Your consent. Before you add a child, Blue asks you to confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you agree to what this notice says, and records who agreed, to which version of this notice, and when. You can agree to this without agreeing to photos: photo consent stays off until you turn it on.
  • Your choices. You can see your child's details and notes in your household, change them, turn photo consent off, or remove your child, at any time. Removing a child deletes their notes and the people allowed to pick them up at once. Their name and date of birth stay on your masjid's records, as How long we keep it says. To ask about your child's information, or to ask us to stop collecting it, write to privacy@muslim.blue.

Elections

If your masjid runs an election in Blue, it keeps the roll of members who may vote, and the ballots. Your ballot does not carry your name. It keeps only a hash of your receipt code, never the code itself.

Bookings, programs and classes

When you ask to book a masjid's hall or its imam, Blue keeps your request, your payment and the masjid's answer. Your message to the masjid is sealed. If the masjid asks you to agree to its terms for the space, Blue keeps the version you agreed to, the name you typed and the time.

If you ask for a masjid's hall or imam from Muslim.Pink, Pink sends Blue the request: your names as a couple, the date, the time and the number of guests. Blue sends Pink the masjid's answer.

When you register yourself or your child for a program or class, Blue keeps the registration, your answers to the masjid's questions, and any payment.

Serving at a masjid

If a masjid gives you a role in its Office, Blue keeps your role and what you change. Owners, treasurers and election officers must use two-step sign-in. If you claim a masjid's page, Blue keeps who you are, your role there, and your proof. A document you send as proof is sealed and seen only by our front desk. If you send a photo of your masjid from its Office, Blue keeps it with who sent it, when, and the name it credits. We draw it again as new copies, so nothing else in the file you sent is kept, such as where or with what camera it was taken.

Sponsoring a masjid

If you sponsor a masjid's plan, Blue keeps your name only if you ask to let the masjid see it. Our payment processor takes the payment and emails your receipt. Our records of a sponsorship are made with no person and no network address behind them.

Screens

A screen in your masjid shows what the masjid puts on it. It holds a token that does two things only: it fetches the masjid's feeds, and it tells us the screen is running.

Building with our developer API

If you get a key for our free developer API, Blue keeps the key's name, its first few characters so you can tell your keys apart, and a one-way hash of it, never the key itself. Blue counts each key's requests by the day, with no record of what was asked or from where, and deletes the counts after 90 days. Requests without a key are counted per network address, as a keyed hash of the address, not the address. The API Terms of Use say more.

Embeds on other websites

A masjid can show its prayer times, giving button, campaign, events and janazah notices on any website with a Muslim.Blue embed. An embed sets no cookie. It carries no analytics or tracking code, and nothing in it loads from any other company. Our embed script asks Muslim.Blue for each embed without your cookies and without the address of the page you are reading. To stop abuse, Blue counts the embeds asked for from each network address, as a keyed hash of the address, not the address. The janazah notice embed shows only on the masjid's own website, so a copied embed code does not show a notice on other websites. That does not make a notice private: a notice the family allowed on the masjid's website is public there until the prayer, and anyone can read it on that website or in the Muslim.Blue public feed the website draws it from.

What is kept automatically

  • To stop abuse, Blue counts tries from each network address. On the giving and sponsor pages it keeps a keyed hash of the address, not the address. The counts are deleted after about two days.
  • When something changes in Blue, such as a gift, a refund, a role or a consent, Blue records it in an audit log with a keyed hash of the network address it came from.
  • Copies of the emails we send are kept for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Cookies: the ones that keep you signed in, small ones that protect the sign-in pages, and in the Office, your choice of light or dark. Blue sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
  • The Office and giving pages load scripts only from Muslim.Blue itself, and from our payment processor on the payment step, where its own script handles your card. That part is covered by our payment processor's own privacy policy.
  • Outside the app, Blue asks for a device's location in two places, and only when you tap. On Muslim.Blue's pages, Use my location beside the masjid search rounds your location to about a kilometer before it leaves your browser, and uses it only to list the masjids nearest you. Muslim.Blue does not keep it. The rounded point travels in the results page's address, so, like any page address, it can appear in the request logs of our web server and our network provider. In the Office, the person setting up a masjid may choose to use their device's location to place the masjid on the map. The app's own use of location is in The Muslim.Blue app.

Who sees your information

  • Your masjid's people, by role. Giving records are seen by your masjid's owners and treasurers. Membership records are seen by the owner, the secretary and the membership team. Teachers see their own classes.
  • Other members see you in the directory only if you opt in.
  • The public sees only what you choose to make public, and only once the masjid's treasurer approves it: your name on a donor wall, on a fundraiser night's screens, or on the iftar sponsor board.
  • Our team, when running or fixing Blue, or when your masjid asks for help.
  • Our service providers, below, for their part of the work only.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising based on what you do on other companies' sites and apps, as state privacy laws define "sell" and "share". We have not done either in the past 12 months. Because we do neither, a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser has nothing to turn off here. If that ever changed, we would honor Global Privacy Control as your request to opt out.

Service providers

Who helps us run Blue
ProviderWhat they doWhat they get
Our payment processorTakes payments, on your masjid's own account with it. Takes payments for Premium bought on the web, on our own account.Your payment details and the amount, and your name and email when you save a card or bank account. For Premium, your name, email and billing address.

Notifications to your phone, and Premium bought in the App Store or Google Play. What their sign-in shares with us; your phone's notification token and the notifications we send to it; and for a store purchase, a random number for your account that tells them nothing about you.
Our matching gift search providerSearches for an employer's matching gift program, only when we switch it on.The employer name typed into the matching lookup. It comes from our servers, with nothing about who typed it.
A public map serviceFinds a masjid's address on the map while the masjid is set up in the Office. The address typed during setup, sent from our servers.
Our hosting and network providersThe servers Blue runs on, the mail server that sends our email, and the network in front of Blue, which serves public prayer times.Everything Blue stores, kept on their servers, and the requests your browser makes to Blue.

AI tools

Muslim.Blue puts information into an AI tool only in these features, and only while each one is on. Translation sends the words a masjid's team typed for an announcement, newsletter or program description, keeping out the verses, hadith and duas it finds, and nothing that names a child, health or a janazah. The Office assistant sends only a staff member's question and our help guides. Our help desk sends a support email you send us, with email addresses and phone numbers taken out, to suggest a reply, unless it names a child, health or a janazah or says "No AI" in its subject. Scheduling help and insight sentences send only counts, roles, dates and totals, never a name. A person approves every translation, help-desk reply and insight sentence before it is used, and a suggested plan schedules nothing. The Office assistant's answers are shown only to the staff member who asked. A masjid's owner can turn each of the masjid's features off under AI tools in the Office.

Your choices

  • Email and app notices. Turn each kind off from the link in any message email from your masjid, or from the masjid's settings page.
  • Texts. Reply STOP to stop every text from that number, and START to begin again.
  • Giving by YES. Turn off a card kept for giving by text from your gifts page, or from the link we email you.
  • Recurring gifts. Change, skip, pause or cancel them from your gifts page.
  • Following. Stop following a masjid at any time from its page, and Blue deletes your follow.
  • The directory and photos. Opt in or out of your masjid's directory, and turn photo consent for your child on or off.
  • Your phone number. Choose whether your masjid sees your phone number with your gifts.
  • Precise location in the app. Turn it on or off, or delete what is kept, under Your location.
  • How you use the app. Turn sharing off under Privacy choices.
  • Deleting your account. From your account page. You have 7 days to change your mind.

Your rights

You may ask us what we keep about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@muslim.blue. If it is your masjid's record, such as a gift, we work with your masjid to answer you. From our desk we can send a request to your masjid's owners in the Office, where they answer it or hand it back to us, and both steps are recorded. We will not treat you differently for asking.

You can ask for a copy from your Muslim Colors account page or under Me in the Muslim.Blue app. Our team reviews the request and emails you a link to download your copy, which works for 3 days.

When you ask what we keep, our copy covers what Blue keeps about you at every masjid and about the children in your household. It also includes how you used the app and any precise locations kept for you, and it leaves out the audit log and what keeps your sign-in secure. It includes your Premium subscription on the web and any renewal box you checked for a masjid's plan. When you ask us to delete, both stay: the subscription as our record of what was paid for, for the time in How long we keep it, and the box with your masjid's plan, as the record of what was agreed. Sealed values, such as a child's health notes and pickup phone numbers, are not in the copy; you can see them in your household. When you ask us to delete it, your gifts, payments and pledges stay as your masjid's records for the time in How long we keep it, and your name comes off any donor wall, iftar sponsor board or fundraiser night.

If your state has a privacy law

If you live in a state whose privacy law gives you these rights, you may ask us:

  • to tell you what personal information we keep about you, and to let you see it;
  • to correct it if it is wrong;
  • to delete it;
  • for a copy of it, in a form you can take elsewhere.

Write to privacy@muslim.blue. We confirm it is you before we answer, usually through your Muslim Colors account or the email address we have for you, and we answer within 45 days. If we cannot do all you asked, we tell you why. You may appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal". We answer an appeal within the time your state's law sets, and if you disagree with our answer, you may contact your state's attorney general. Someone you authorize may ask for you; we may ask for proof that you authorized them, and confirm the request with you.

How we protect it

  • The most sensitive values, such as children's health notes and pickup phone numbers, are sealed with encryption.
  • A masjid's owners, treasurers and election officers must use two-step sign-in. Refunds, exports and statements ask for it again at the moment they are made.
  • The application never changes an entry in the audit log. It deletes an entry only when its time in How long we keep it runs out.

No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

The Muslim.Blue app

Prayer times, the Qibla and the Quran work in the app without an account. When you sign in, the app uses your Muslim Colors account, and this notice covers what it keeps.

On the web, the Muslim.Blue app remembers in your browser's own storage that you were signed in, so reloading the page keeps you signed in. It keeps only that note there, never a password or a sign-in token, and signing out forgets it. While it signs you back in, the tab keeps the one-time sign-in request for that moment, and removes it when you are back.

Your location

  • The app uses your phone's precise location only after you turn it on, with Use my location on Today or under Your location, and reads it only while the app is open. Without it, the app uses the city you choose.
  • To find masjids near you, the usual prayer time method where you are, and halal food and prayer spaces in the finder, the app sends your location rounded to about a kilometer. The finder does not keep it.
  • Your precise location is kept on Muslim.Blue only if you choose it, with your own tap under Your location while signed in. Then we keep your last location and those of the last 30 days, each sealed with encryption, and delete older ones every day. It is never sold.
  • Turning precise location off, or Delete what is kept, deletes every location we keep at once.
  • Kept locations leave our records only as counts of people by area, about 5 kilometers across, and never for an area with fewer than 10 people.

Notifications

  • If you allow notifications, the app gives us your phone's own notification token from Apple or Google, with your language and time zone, so the notices you ask for reach you. If you are signed in, we keep it with your account.
  • Signing out removes this phone from our notifications, and deleting your account removes all of its phones. Notifications we have finished sending are deleted after 30 days.

How the app is used

  • Unless you turn it off under Privacy choices, the app notes which screens you open, by the kind of screen, never a masjid, a city or anything you typed, and events such as a search or a purchase started. It keeps them on your phone and sends them to Muslim.Blue alone, in one upload when you leave the app, with no other company's code.
  • We keep them with a random number the app made when it was installed, stored only in a scrambled form, and with your account number if you are signed in. No network address, browser details or location is kept with them. They are deleted after 90 days, and when your account is deleted.
  • Turned off, nothing more about how you use the app is kept or sent.

Ads in the app

  • The app shows our own ads, chosen only by the screen, your city or region, and what the screen is about, never by who you are. The app asks for them with your city and region, never your precise location. No other company's ad code is in the app.
  • Ads never show on the Quran, an adhan alert, a janazah notice, a giving screen or a page for children, and never to anyone with Premium.
  • We count how many times each ad was seen and opened, with nothing about who: the app reports only which ads it showed. Opening an ad goes through Muslim.Blue, which counts the click, and then on to the advertiser's page.

Premium and purchases

  • If you buy Premium, we keep what you have: the plan, where you bought it, its status and the date it is paid through. This is how one Premium works on the web and in the app, wherever you bought it.
  • On the web, you pay on our payment processor's page. It keeps your card and your billing address, which it uses to work out sales tax, and we keep its customer number for you. When your account is deleted, we delete our link to that customer number. Our payment processor keeps its own records of your payments under its own terms, which may be needed for a refund or for tax.
  • In the App Store or Google Play, you pay the store. We receive the store's signed record of the purchase, which we check with Apple or Google, and never your card. The app gives the store a random number for your account, so neither Apple nor Google learns who you are on Muslim.Blue. The stores' notices about your purchase are kept 90 days.

Your tools

The prayer and fasting tracker, the qada counts, the journal, the tasbih and the guide checklists are kept on your phone, sealed with a key made on your phone. They reach Muslim.Blue only if you turn on encrypted sync, and then only sealed: we never receive the key or the words, and we cannot open them. The sealed copies we keep are deleted with your account.

Revised again: our service providers are named by the kind of work they do; a separate notice to parents of children under 13; how long we keep each kind of record, including 7 years for gift and payment records and 1 year for most audit entries; a section on the rights that state privacy laws give; that we do not sell or share personal information, and honor Global Privacy Control if that ever changes; and that your giving is private, with the only places a name can show. Revised again 2026-10-30: Phase L built Blue's deletions, so the notice now gives each period as the code keeps it (a gift keeps only its amount, fund and date after 7 years), records the version a parent agreed to, says a donor's name shows in public only with the donor's yes and the treasurer's approval, describes the copy and the erasure, a request our desk sends to a masjid, the under-18 mark from a birth date, and when the audit log deletes an entry. Revised again 2026-10-30 (Phase L follow-ups): the audit log's 7 years for proof of agreement and for gift and payment entries are built and claimed, the agreement record's 7 years start when a masjid's agreement ends, you can ask for a copy in the app, and the copy includes app usage, kept locations, Premium on the web and a plan's renewal box. Revised again 2026-10-30 (the owner's last answers): names Muslim Colors LLC as the separate company that runs the Muslim Colors account. Revised again 2026-10-30: Phase U: Use my location beside the masjid search on Muslim.Blue's pages is a second place outside the app that asks for your location, rounds it to about a kilometer and does not keep it; the app's Today card can also turn precise location on; the app on the web remembers that you were signed in, so a reload keeps you signed in; and an account made from Muslim.Pink asks you to confirm you are 18 or older. Asks everyone to agree again
0.1October 24, 2026First draft for attorney review. 0.1, revised: a masjid's invite asks the Muslim Colors account's 13-or-older confirmation too, and Blue asks a date of birth of any account that has not confirmed it. Revised again: the notice now lives at /privacy-policy/, and its old address forwards there. A short section says what happens to your information with AI tools. Revised again: a section on the embeds masjids put on other websites (no cookie, no tracking, counted per network address by a keyed hash, janazah notices only on the masjid's own website). Revised again: that section now says plainly that a janazah notice the family allowed on the masjid's website is public there and in the public feed the website draws it from; the embed rule only keeps a copied code off other websites. Revised again: an iftar sponsor's night is kept, and their name shows on the masjid's iftar sponsor board only if they choose it and the masjid has looked at it. Revised again: the AI tools section now says which features put information into an AI tool (translation, the Office assistant, our help desk, scheduling help and insight sentences), what each sends, that a person reviews every result, and how a masjid turns them off; and support emails in our help desk's queue are kept 90 days.
